A RIVER OF GRACE
Jas 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."
Fight like a good soldier and if you sometimes fall through weakness, rise again with greater strength than before, trusting in His most abundant grace.
~ Thomas A. Kempis
I don’t know that I could ever forget the Lord leading me up a rugged mountain trail over 40 years ago. The words He spoke to me on that hike were so vivid, that when I returned home, I wrote it all down in the cover of my old Thompson Chain Bible. A phrase from those words has been the foremost in my mind, “The harder the way, the greater the grace!”
While having been a hard-core backslider for 7 years prior to my return to the Lord, I gave away many pieces of my heart to sin. By the grace of God, I set out to gather up my whole heart to give back to Jesus. I haven’t always been the best at it, but I’ve learned this one thing: The river of God’s grace, runs to the lowest place! There is such power in the decision to humble yourself before the Lord. Every time I have done so, grace came running to me like a rushing river.
Friend, truly, the harder the way gets to follow Christ, the greater measure of His grace is available to you! Grace is the means to overcome besetting sins, and grace is the power to follow Him through it all. O, the joy that comes to those that will humble themselves under His mighty hand, and that joy is brings the strength to follow Him to the very end! HALLELUJAH!
Every blessing!
