YOU CANNOT REAP WHAT YOU DO NOT SOW!
“Many, I fear, would like glory, who have no wish for grace. They would [want to] have the wages, but not the work; the harvest, but not the labor; the reaping, but not the sowing; the reward, but not the battle. But it may not be.”
Hag 2:19 'Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded [fruit]. [But] from this day I will bless [you].' "
I am always expecting some sort of confirming nudge as to what I am to write each day. Yesterday, I heard the question, “Is the seed still in the barn?” I pondered it for a few minutes and then my mind began to go in other directions with the tasks of the day. I had not thought of it any more until this morning as I began to pray about what to write. I heard it again, “Is the seed still in the barn?” This time I looked up the passage. In the context, was the phrase, “On the 24th day of the month.” (Hag. 2:10) I realized that today is the 24th day of April! So I believe the Lord wants to bring about a turning point in someone’s life.
Now, lets prayerfully ponder this together. What seed do I have to sow? What I am holding in storage, in my barn, if you will. Is it gifts that God has given me? Is it finances that God has given me? Is it abilities that God has given me? Is it talents that God has given me? What do I possess that I need to sow into the Kingdom of God so that there will be a reaping for God’s glory? God promises to the sower He will give them seed to sow. Don’t worry you will never lack, He also supplies bread to the eater! The abundant life we are promised in Christ is always connected to the sowing life! I will conclude with these powerful words of Scripture. Let them speak to your heart!
2Co 9:7 [So let] each one [give] (or sow) as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver (or sower). 8 And God [is] able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all [things], may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written: "He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever." 10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have [sown] and increase the fruits of your righteousness..
May this day be a powerful day of decision to begin to sow the seed God has blessed you with and from this day forward, He is going to bless you!!
Every blessing!
