“The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning.”
Lam 3:21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. 22 [Through] the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 [They are] new every morning; Great [is] Your faithfulness.
In a twenty-four hour period, the Earth makes a full rotation from it’s starting point. In the incomprehensible mind of almighty God, perhaps one reason for this is, that He knew you and I would need brand-new starts. The Scripture does not say that His mercies are new every century, or every decade, or even every year. No! His mercies are new with every new day! Most of us have had dozens of bad days and if we wish, we could recall many of them. In the great kindness of God, He has given us a brand-new start every 1,440 minutes!
We can start each and every day with drawing closer to God or setting our minds on something else. The wisest thing to do, is to set our hearts and minds on Jesus Christ! The psalmist said, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” (Ps. 90:12) We need to value that each new day is a gift given to us by our Creator and it is a precious opportunity to make ourselves ready to meet Him, any day now! No matter how tough yesterday might have been, today is a new day. In God’s renewed mercy, go another round! Today could be your best day yet!
