God has not promised skies always blue, flower-strewn pathways all our life through; God has not promised sun without rain, joy without sorrow, peace without pain. But God has promised strength for the day, rest for the labor, light for the way; grace for the trials, help from above, unfailing sympathy, undying love.

1Kings 8:56 Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses.

On April 1st 2005, I turned 46. I rolled out of bed and stood looking at a block wall and thinking, “Happy Birthday to me! Our makeshift bedroom was in the basement of a foreclosed house. (A dear family that was losing their home, had allowed us to stay there. Every time we heard a knock at the door, we thought is was someone from the bank coming to throw us out!) The dismal gray light was a good backdrop for the depression I was battling. I believed that we had come to that city in the will of God and my wonderful plans had blown up in my face.

Before daylight I made my way across town to an early morning prayer meeting at the church I was affiliated with. There were three things on my mind and I voiced them to the Lord in the form of a complaint. I remember saying to the Lord, "but God, you promised!" I began to cry because of the disappointment and frustration.

I pulled myself together and made my dutiful way into a prayer gathering that I did not want to attend. I mumbled my way through the private time of prayer and almost dreaded the group prayer at the conclusion of the meeting.

At the close, the lead intercessor of the church, began to pray for me. Then she began to speak prophetically over me. To my absolute, tearful amazement, the Lord addressed, in the order that I made my complaint, the exact three things that I had said to Him privately in my car! My heart was flooded with supernatural encouragement and I believed the word that was spoken!

Everything that was told, came to pass almost immediately. The Lord turned our situation totally around and our family went from not enough to more than enough!

Friend, if the Lord has promised you something, He will bring it to pass. He probably won't do it in your timing and in your prescribed way, but He will not fail even one of His promises!

Be encouraged dear one that loves the Lord. Don’t just sit on the premises but stand on His promises!

Every blessing!
