HE MIGHT LET YOU SINK BUT HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DROWN

Matt 14:28 And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." 29 So He said, "Come." And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

There have been a few times in my Christian walk, which the call of God has taken me in way over my head! Yes, I saw Him on the water of impossibility and nevertheless He bid me to “Come” to Him! For a little while I walked on top of the waves and was in awe of Christ’s power to take care of us when there was no other known source to assist! When people knew of our situation, they too were in awe of Jesus’ mighty power keeping us afloat!

Matt 14:30 But when he saw that the wind [was] boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!"

Dear reader, I must be honest, I have been overcome at times by the wind and the waves and I started to sink with fear and unbelief! I succumbed to the howling wind and the tidal waves crashing over me. I remember a time when my leap of faith had put my family in such jeopardy, I actually believed we were going to be homeless on the streets. I have allowed my faith to almost be drowned in some storms we have faced!

Matt 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched out [His] hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

However, when I have cried out to Jesus, never one time has He failed to lift us out of the terrible storms. Friend, I believe it is alright if we doubt our ability to believe we can walk on water, but may we never, ever doubt that He will be there to save us when our faith turns to fear! He will hear our cry! Let’s make it a cry of confidence in the truth that, “Faithful is He who has called us and He will do it!” (1Th. 5:24) There may be times that Jesus will let you sink in order for you to get your eyes back on Him but He will never let you drown! He is the Master of the Sea, never doubt it! He will put you back in the boat so that you can sail on and be about the Father’s business! Matt 14:32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

Every blessing!
