WE ARE NOT HOME YET

WE ARE NOT HOME YET.png
The only ultimate disaster that can befall us, I have come to realize, is to feel ourselves at home here on earth.
— Malcolm Muggeridge

Heb 11:16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly [country]. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

How easy it is to become at home down here. We work so hard to make a comfortable nest to dwell in and to make a nest egg to take care of us in our old age. Sadly, we can so subtlety and gradually lose the longing for our homeland. We do well to call to mind that Jesus will return for those who love His appearing, His return for us in the clouds! (2Tim. 4:8) We let our time with Him diminish and we don't even know at what point we have gone adrift. We no longer see ourselves as strangers and pilgrims here on earth. (Heb.11:13) We stop our search for the city that has foundations who builder and maker is God! (Heb. 11:10)

Dear Reader, this pilgrim life as disciples, must make constant readjustment and refocus. We must look away from all the world’s allure and look away to Jesus and again to behold the beauty of the Lord and inquire of Him in His temple. (Ps. 27:4) If we consistently do this, we will get our bearings straight blaze a trail that others may follow to arrive at that ultimate destination, our forever home with the Lord, which is far better than this old world on it’s best day!

Every blessing!
