TIMING IS EVERYTHING

When you are with Jesus, you are always at the right place at the right time. - Nathan Rousu

Mat 17:27 "Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you."

Many years ago, I had a strong leading to go to New York City to take part in ministry with Times Square Church. I had tracked David Wilkerson for several years prior. I wanted to make a small investment of time because I believed so much in the mission and vision.

A group of us young preachers, spent the night in prayer and prepared to preach on the streets the next day. Several stood up to preach, but the traffic was so loud, they could not be heard even ten feet away. The leader asked me if I wanted to try, and I said, “Sure, why not!” There were masses of people walking everywhere. I opened my mouth and began to cry out, “Where, will you spend eternity?”, at the top of my lungs with just paragraph messages to all that passed by. As you might imagine, people scurried down the street to avoid me!

I was in mid sentence and the Holy Spirit told me to “Stop!”, so I did. In that instant, I locked on to a young Latin American man. I had someone with me that spoke Spanish. I learned that he was soccer player and had come to NYC to try out for a team. Someone had introduced him to crack-cocaine and he was now homeless and broke. I led him to Jesus and introduced him to someone with the church that could get him some help. I looked around and saw some of the team members and several policemen talking with them. As I was walking toward them, the police walked away. When the guys saw me, they said, “There you are!” I inquired about why the officers were talking with them. They told me they were looking for me to arrest me. I asked them why, and they told me there were many complaints of my disturbing the peace. I asked, “How do you do that in Times Square?” They said, “You were so loud that you were drowning out the noise of the traffic!” In the same way, God’s split second timing when Peter was there and caught that first fish, God had led me to stop preaching and to witness to a lost man who just happened to be passing by!

Friend, God’s will is perfect and His timing is also perfect! Seek not only His will but His timing in your day to day living. You will be fascinated how the Lord will have you in the right place at just the right time!

Every blessing!
