DIVINE COMPULSION

2Co 5:14a For the love of Christ compels us…
““Neither rain, or snow, nor death of night, can keep us from our duty.” ”
A story is told of Hudson Taylor, missionary to China. On a night he was scheduled to speak, there was a torrential storm taking place. His hostess tried to talk him out of going. She went on to tell him that everyone would assume the meeting was cancelled and not to worry about it. He said, “I must go, even if there is but one doorkeeper!” With less than a dozen in attendance, there was a great outpouring of The Spirit. Half of them were called to the mission field and the other half became faithful supporters of the China Inland Mission! —Adapted from Hudson Taylor—The Growth of a Work of God
Much of the task of servants of The Most High, has to do with carrying the message of The Gospel. Many times the mission is met with many kinds of opposition. However, if we are under Divine compulsion, we will proceed. We have many examples in Scripture. Consider this from 2Cor. 1:8b “we despaired even of life.” Even in such adversity, the apostolic team pressed on! Let’s pray the same Holy Spirit fire would consume and thrust us into the over-ripe Harvest of our day, In Jesus name and for His sake! AMEN!
Every blessing!
