OOOPS!

Our yesterdays present irreparable things to us; it is true that we have lost opportunities which will never return, but God can transform this destructive anxiety into a constructive thoughtfulness for the future. Let the past sleep, but let it sleep on the bosom of Christ. Leave the Irreparable Past in His hands, and step out into the Irresistible Future with Him.

Php 3:13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing [I do], [[[forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead]]]

There are those irreversible failures in life. There are those opportunities that will never knock again. There are those moments when it would have been just right for sharing the Gospel. There was that time when the Holy Spirit prompted you to stop and help that person broke down on the side of the road, and you passed on by. All of these kind of things are gone, forever. You’re sorry. You ask forgiveness, but you feel still awful. What do you do? Ready? Put it in the hands of God and let it go!

Nearly fifteen years ago, my wife and I were headed out to watch our son’s basketball game. In a hurry, as usual, I put my cell phone in the cup holder. I didn’t realize that there was already a cup in the holder and water in the cup! Even though I grabbed it out instantly, it was too late for my phone. I put it in a bag of rice for several days. It was gone and not coming back! No insurance on it! I was sick and angry with myself, but my phone was dead and not coming back! OOOPS!

We all experience this kind of thing in life. Nothing we do can to redeem the situation. Thank God, the counsel of the Word tell us to forget about it. Don’t dwell on it. Instead, stretch and strain after the God opportunities that are before you. Learn what you can from the painful Oopsies that are inevitable and move ahead in Jesus name. If you are looking back, you can’t see where you need to be going! Trust the Lord who makes all things new and everything beautiful in His time! He will! (Rev. 21:5 & Eccl. 3:11)

Every blessing!
