AS SURELY AS THE SUN RISES

AS SURELY AS THE SUN RISES.png

Hosea 6:3 Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge Him. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth." NIV

Faith is not an instinct. It certainly is not a feeling – feelings don’t help much when you’re in the lions’ den or hanging on a wooden Cross. Faith is not inferred from the happy way things work. It is an act of will, a choice, based on the unbreakable Word of a God who cannot lie, and who showed us what love and obedience and sacrifice mean, in the person of Jesus Christ.
— Elizabeth Elliot, wife of martyr Jim Elliot

Is there anyone reading this whose last thought before drifting off to sleep last night was, “I wonder if the Sun will rise tomorrow?” Silly thought, I know, but when we doubt that God will come through on His promises when His conditions are met, it’s just as silly! God who cannot lie, (Titus 1:2) and God who cannot fail, (1Cor. 13:8) and God who cannot be conquered (Luke 10:18-19) can be trusted to the Nth degree! If ever God failed anyone, at any time or place, it would be the very first time. It’s not going to happen, ever!

My dear reader, whatever thing you are going through right now, entrust it to God the same way Jesus kept His faith in His Father, when He said from the Cross, “Father, into Thy hands I commend or commit My spirit.” (Luke 23:46) Jesus, in His darkest hour, did not lose Faith in His Father! As surely as the Sun rose this morning, The Son rose that Resurrection morning, securing every promise in the book for all who will believe! May I encourage you to simply put your faith in His faithfulness?

1Peter 4:19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls [to Him] in doing good, as to a faithful Creator. KJV

1Thess. 5:24 He who calls you [is] faithful, who also will do [it]. NKJV

Every blessing!
