ACQUIRING WISDOM

Keep praying, but be thankful that God’s answers are wiser than your prayers!

Pro 16:9 A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps. NKJV

What a great and precious comfort for the child of God! We can expect our Father to guide our steps, even when our own GPS is off-course. We, however, must follow His GPS (God Provided Supervision!). We are promised that we will hear His voice behind us at every crossroad, giving us specific direction! (Isa. 30:31) What is more precious than the Wisdom of God? You may say, “Jesus is the most precious possession we can acquire! I totally agree, because Jesus IS the Wisdom of God! (Col. 1:24)

Pro 4:7 Wisdom [is] the principal thing; [Therefore] get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. NKJV

Principal thing: Chiefest, choicest, greatest, best! So wisdom is the very best thing we can acquire! So with our every ability, must lay hold of the Wisdom of God! Fearing the Lord is where wisdom begins! (Pro. 1:7) Fearing God must be at the top on our values list! Values are what we practice. Whatever we do not practice, is surely not something we value. Simply, the fear of the Lord is to value His wisdom, His will and His way, higher than any other!

Obtaining wisdom, thank God, is not complicated! No! Wisdom can be obtained for the asking! At every place of decision we can ask God for His Wisdom and He has promised that He will give it to us! (James 1:5) With this knowledge, it’s foolish for us not to ask the Father, “What is Your Wisdom here?” O what a difference His Wisdom makes in our every day life!

I would be remiss to leave the following precious promise out!

Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Every blessing!
