I AM HERE 7 of 7
“This is the SEVENTH of a seven part devotional series entitled: I AM HERE. The title is an acrostic. Today the letter “E” EUPHORIC PRESENCE. In these incredibly tumultuous times in which we are living, it is good to remind ourselves of these timely and timeless words of our Lord Jesus, Matt 28:20 ..and lo, I AM with you always, [even] to the end of the age. Amen.” It is my earnest and heartfelt prayer that this little series will comfort, strengthen and encourage every reader!”
Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence [is] fullness of joy; At Your right hand [are] pleasures forevermore.
When by the grace of God, I turned from my wicked way of living over 4 decades ago, I forsook abusing drugs and alcohol! Honestly, I lived and loved to get high. The reason being, without this practice, I felt so low. Not like low self-esteem or that kind of thing. I felt terribly depressed. I felt empty, worthless, lifeless, meaningless. Getting high caused me to forget the pain of my reality!
Dear reader, when Christ came to lift me out of that horrible pit of despair, He gave me a high that I’ve never come down from! I have found that there is absolutely no high like the Most High! There is no comparison between a holy high and a hellish high!
Psalm 24:3 Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.
This incredible euphoria is found no other place but in the presence of the Lord! I had to exchange my pursuit of pleasing myself and take up the pursuit of what pleases God! I had to stop playing games, having one foot in and one foot out! Then, I began to ascend the hill of the Lord. Arriving in that Holy place, I have discovered the reality, a new reality of His awesome presence! We enter into the Holy of Holies by the blood of Christ alone! (Heb. 10:19) Being with Him, in this secret place, is the place where my sorrows, my hurts, my failures, my burdens and my cares are washed away by the joy of His presence and by the pleasure of His company! He will do the same for you! My friend this high, is worth the climb!
Every blessing!
