WALKING WITH GOD

“God’s choice acquaintances are humble men.”
Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what [is] good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?
I believe it is impossible to walk with God at all, if we take along pride in our knapsack. Psalm 138:6 Though the LORD [is] on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar. This verse all by itself, shows the futility of trying to walk closely with God without repenting of our pride.
“Just as water seeks to fill the lowest places, so God fills you with His glory and power when He finds you empty and abased.”
“They that know God will be humble, and they that know themselves, cannot be proud.”
“He that is down need fear no fall.”
“Nothing sets a Christian so much out of the devil’s reach than humility.”
“Our father was Adam, our grandfather dust, our great-grandfather nothing.”
“God creates out of nothing. Therefore, until a man is nothing, God can make nothing out of him.”
I have no doubt that humility is one of the very greatest virtues that a Christian can attain! I would have more to say about this, but I must admit, when I believe I know enough about humility to teach others, humility always flees from me! I simply leave you with this:
If we would desire a closer walk with God, we must cast our pride to the side.
