Trust the past to God’s mercy, the present to God’s love and the future to God’s providence.
— AUGUSTINE

Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just [is] like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.

This beautiful verse speaks of our past, present and future! For any of us, there are some dark times and places in our past, even after our conversion. We are called out of darkness into His marvelous light. It is a progressive journey, is it not? I know there are some places in my past, that I am ashamed of. I am so thankful for the precious blood of Christ that washes my sin away! I can leave my past to the riches of God’s great mercy and so can you!

Standing in the present, I have to be honest, the darkness is different from the darkness of my failures. It is becoming more and more gross by evil people who are becoming more and more evil! (2Tim. 3:13) Yet, if I look away unto Jesus, I see His glorious light shining into this present darkness of this present evil day! I have His light to see my way through and to stay the course laid out for me. I will fear none of this evil, because He is with me presently and nothing shall ever separate me from His love! (Rom. 8:37-39)

O my precious siblings in Christ! Look ahead! Can you see it? It is the light of His coming glory and the glory of His coming for us! Fix your eyes on His shining light! The brightness is a shade brighter today than yesterday! He is coming toward us and we a moving forward to Him to that perfect day! You and I will make it. No matter what the future holds, the Son of God is holding our future! No matter the storms that may lie ahead of us, our Captain has said, “Let us cross over to the other side!” (Luke 8:22) Friend, cheer up! Jesus has never lost a trusting passenger! Consider what Paul says about our future. Php 1:23 For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, WHICH IS FAR BETTER. Hallelujah! Lord Jesus! Help us to keep moving forward toward that perfect day awaiting all of us that truly love You!

Every blessing!
