1Sam 17:28 Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab's anger was aroused against David, and he said, "Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle."
Notice the spin and inference that big brother Eliab puts on little brother David. Here is a total put down: “You little insignificant, prideful brat! You abandoned your simple and minuscule sheep duty out in the middle of nowhere! You have no business here, you're just a little kid!” Has anyone ever made you feel as though what you are doing and who you are, does not matter? Well, I am here to tell you, your contribution to the Kingdom of God matters greatly to your Heavenly Father!
God chose David, the least likely to succeed, to become the King of Israel! He was faithful to Jesse, his father when no one on Earth was watching. However, David’s Father in Heaven was watching and was well pleased!
No you are not Billy Graham or Reinhard Bonnke. Neither am I but you and I were created for a very special purpose that Billy or Reinhard could not fulfill! I came by here today to tell someone that your ministry out love for Jesus and your faithfulness in secret, is going to be rewarded openly, like David! Stay faithful in the little things and you will be promoted and put in charge of a great work in the Kingdom of God!
