CHRIST MY STRENGTH
“Will God ever ask you to do something you are not able to do? The answer is yes–all the time! It must be that way, for God’s glory and kingdom. If we function according to our ability alone, we get the glory; if we function according to the power of the Spirit within us, God gets the glory. He wants to reveal Himself to a watching world.”
PhP 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Even this very morning, as I am waiting on the Lord and thinking of a task that is before me today, I feel the heavy weight of inability and inadequacy. My task is to preach the Gospel to a foreign people, whose language and culture I am totally unfamiliar with. It is overwhelming, my ineptitude that is! Do I feel honored? No question! Am I able to give these dear people what they really need? No way… unless I can exchange my weakness for His strength!
I hear Him whisper to my heart, “My grace is sufficient for you today! My strength will be made perfect in your weakness! I know just what to say. Surrender to Me your weakness, your inability, your heart, your mind and I will speak to them, through your mouth!”
How wonderful! We can go before the Lord Jesus and exchange our inadequacies and experience the flow of His strength through these mortal bodies! There! I feel encouraged now! I pray you do too! Hallelujah!
Every blessing!
