THE CROSS IS NOT GLAMOROUS
“Christian history looks glorious in retrospect; but it is made up of constant hard choices and unattractive tasks, accepted under the pressure of the Will of God.”
Luke 14:27 "And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
Jesus Christ bore the cross that no other being in the universe could have taken on! No one of us could become salvation for all mankind but Christ alone! However, every true follower of Jesus, has a cross of his or her own to take up. Jesus did not suffer unspeakable agony to give you and I some sort of glamorous ministry with our name in lights. No! He died to save us from the penalty of eternal death and separation from God!
Jesus came to do the will of the Father. (Heb. 10:7) Jesus said that not everyone that will say to Him, “Lord, Lord”, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but the one who does the will of the Father. (Mt. 7:21) Though the way be hard and painful at times, His joy will give you strength to follow in His steps. May I remind you today that just one glimpse of Him in Glory will the toils of this cross life, far more than repay! Choose the Christ, choose the cross! It will be worth it all just to see Him and hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord!” HALLELUJAH!
Every blessing!
