I RECKON
“There was once a fiddler who played so beautifully that everybody danced. A deaf man who could not hear the music considered them all insane. Those who are with Jesus in suffering hear this music to which other men are deaf. They dance and do not care if they are considered insane.”
Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time [are] not worthy [to be compared] with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
The authors of both of these quotes, danced to the beat of a different drum. Both these men, considered Christ worthy of their sufferings. Both these men kept their eyes on the prize; to please the Lord Jesus who bought them with His own blood! They understood that they were not suffering to be saved but rather, they were saved as a result of the suffering of the Lord Jesus Christ.
1Pet 2:21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
Peter also considered Jesus worthy of his suffering for Jesus’ mission. Why? Because he was an eyewitness of His majesty. (2Pet 1:16) Peter knew Jesus in an intimate way. Peter walked closely with Jesus. Peter had a glimpse of Jesus’ glory. Peter danced to the music of the risen Lord! He walked closely enough to Christ to hear the sound of all of Heaven rejoicing over our worthy King Jesus! Nothing was worth more to these men than pleasing Jesus, by life or by death. (Php 1:20) Listen! Can you hear the sound of this music? If so, will you also join in this dance?
Every blessing!
