THE RISE OF SENSUALITY
Jde 1:19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit
I read an article on social media recently that was filled with authoritative foolishness! It was a biblically unfounded attack on the supernatural. Its fervor stemmed from sensuality. When we hear the word sensuality, we immediately tend to think of carnal sexuality. Certainly, sensuality is that. However, sensuality in Jude’s writing, covers natural thinking also. In other words thinking without the aide of the Holy Spirit. (1Cor. 2:14) In our text, Jude is writing all the way into our day. (the last time - Jude vs. 18) These natural thinkers that say that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are past with the apostolic age, are sorely mistaken. Jude says these natural thinkers cause division in the Body of Christ. Jude says the way we resist this sensuality and build our selves up spiritually, is to pray in the Holy Spirit. Paul calls the same thing, speaking in an unknown tongue. How do I know this is true. Jude says it builds up most holy faith. Paul says it edifies the person. (1Cor. 14:4) The words build and edify are the same root word!
Dear reader, the rise of sensuality is out to tear down the supernatural. Thank God, there is a rise in the supernatural or the spiritual in our day! Do not be deceived by these demonically inspired teachings! Satan absolutely detests the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit. He appeals to our sensuality, or natural reasoning because he knows the built up and the edified will be the ones to trample him under foot! Oh, how much more will our Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask! (Luke 11:13) HALLELUJAH!!
Every blessing!
