THE TRIUMPH
Rom 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
At the heart of the story stands the cross of Christ where evil did its worst and met its match. ~ J. Wenham
The man who struggled greatly to ascend Calvary’s mountain had done no evil. He suffered unspeakably for those who cursed, mocked, and tormented Him! He suffered to save the worst of humanity, and the best of humanity, for every last one of us has sinned against God! He endured unto death, the most horrible of pains on a cross! It was the goodness of God that led Him there, and the goodness of God that kept Him there until salvation was fully paid for!
Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
His triumph begs the question, “How will you live today in light of how He died for you that day?” Our answer should be, “By the triumph of Jesus Christ and by His grace, I will not be overcome by evil, but I too will overcome evil with His goodness! HALLELUJAH!
Every blessing!
