Samuel Leibowitz, criminal lawyer and judge, saved 78 men from the electric chair. No one ever did bother to thank him!

2Tim. 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be..unthankful

It’s shocking to me, (no pun intended) that 78 men were sentenced to die by way of electric chair, which is an unimaginable way to die, and not even one person appreciated their deliverance enough to say, “Thank you!” One of the most telltale signs of the last days, is the rise of unthankfulness. In Paul’s letter to the Romans, in the first chapter, he addresses the progression of reprobation. (Rom. 1:21) Paul states that one glaring evidence is the progression, is unthankfulness. Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name. Here we see that thankfulness and blessing is entry level to coming before God! Thankfulness actually just takes inventory of the goodness of God and is the only reasonable response to His great kindnesses toward you!

Ps. 115:17 [a] The dead do not praise the Lord

One great proof that we are alive in Christ, is that we are filled with praise and thanksgiving to God! The people who offer no glory to God are the spiritually dead! The Lord inhabits His people’s praise! In Acts 16, Paul and Silas, rather than moaning, groaning, murmuring and complaining over their their incarceration for spreading the Gospel, sang and lifted up praises to God! The Lord’s mighty presence inhabited those praises and all the captives were set free! Breathing is proof that we are alive! Praising and thanking are evidences we are alive in Christ! I close with the last recorded words in the Psalms:

150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Every blessing!
