CRUSHING SATAN
“Satan is powerful, but his is a defeated foe. For the Christian, he is only as strong as the power we permit him to have in our lives.”
Rom 16:19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all [men]. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you. Amen.
Let me draw your attention to just two words in the preceding text: Wise and Simple. Wise meaning skilled or learned in knowing good. Simple meaning unmixed or innocent with regard to evil. The world we live in makes it a lot easier to be skilled and learned at the evil side of things. We are flooded with opportunities to indulge in sin. Sin of every type and description, is readily accessible! However, our God is able to keep us and if we should stumble, He is right there reaching to help us back up! If your struggling with easily besetting sin, that’s good! That’s an indication that God’s Spirit is working and dwelling in you! Don’t be discouraged, though you haven’t arrived, you will if you don’t give up! Remember, you are more than a conqueror through Him who loves you! (Romans 8:37) Soon God will crush Satan with the heel of your very own foot!
Gen 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou [art] cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
Satan’s place is in the dust, where we walk. God intends that we walk on him, stomp him, etc. Don’t allow devils to have any other place in your life than under your feet!
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
I love Luke 10:19. It reveals something amazing. Jesus tells His followers that He gives us exousia, authority over all the dynamis, supernatural power of the Devil! We have authority over all the supernatural power of Satan! GOD IS: WITHIN US! BEFORE US! BEHIND US! ABOVE US! BESIDE US! ALL AROUND US! SATAN IS: BENEATH OUR FEET! JESUS GIVES US THE VICTORY EVERY TIME WE TRUST HIM! HEY IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE! HALLELUJAH!!
