1Sa 17:45 Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. NKJV
Perhaps you too, have known the story of David and Goliath from your childhood. I remember thinking, “He must of been some kind of superhero.” Years later, when I could study the story for myself, I realized he was just a teenage boy when he took Goliath out. Where on earth did a little guy like David get a courage big enough to charge a nine foot monster like Goliath? (1Sam. 17:48) I believe the courage or the fearlessness in his heart began to grow as he worshiped and prayed out in the sheep fields. He killed a lion and a bear with his bare hands. (1Sam. 17:35) I have known some fierce hunters in these mountains where I reside, but I don’t know any that go out and tangle in hand to paw combat, with one of our Mountain Lions or Bears!
“ In the fear of the LORD [there is] strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.”
Holy Spirit our great instructor, teach us the fear of the Lord, in order that we may face the giants of our day, fearlessly! Empower us to take down the giants that have taken this generation away captive! Breathe into us a fearlessly, careless courage that will run to the roar of Satan. Bring Your sons and daughters to a place that we can say like Apostle Paul, "But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. Acts 20:24 NKJV
Come on friends, let’s do this! No giant is a match for the fearlessly, careless Jesus Who lives inside us!
