THE GOLDEN RULE IS TARNISHED

Matt 7:12 "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
“Is there a thing we would not like our neighbor to do to us? Then let us always remember, that this is the thing we ought not to do to him. Is there a thing we would like him to do to us? Then this is the very thing we ought to do to him. How many intricate questions would be decided at once, if this rule were honestly used!”
It is there. It is real. We do not have to be keenly discerning to see it! Tarnished love is the “IT” I am speaking of and love is in swift decline in our world. Love is waxing colder and colder. (Matt. 24:12) The sea of iniquity we are swimming in has tarnished The Golden Rule. The golden has become dim. (Lam. 4:1) The rising rule of the day seems to have become, “Everyone for themself" and “You’ve gotta look out for number 1!”
How in this world can The Golden Rule regain its glowing luster? I certainly don’t have all the wisdom on this subject, but one thing I believe wholeheartedly, Jesus is the one to turn to for help! He says to the lukewarm Laodiceans, “Buy from Me, gold tried in the fire” (Rev. 3:18) My continual prayer has become, “Lord Jesus, place the fire of love that is in Your heart into my selfish heart and burn away all the lukewarmth and let Your radiant love flow through me, first back to You and then to everyone in my daily path!” O Jesus, polish The Golden Rule in Your people, so the whole world will once again, see You shine!
Every blessing!
