HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?

Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

Your mind is a garden. Your thoughts are the seeds. You can grow flowers. Or you can grow weeds.

Sow a thought and you reap an action; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny.
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

It is a good thing to often evaluate the garden of our lives. What is growing there? Is it beautiful and lush or are there many weeds, thorns and thistles? The produce is a direct result of the seed of our thinking and is sown by our words. James tells us that our lives follow our words. STOP RIGHT THERE! I urge you to read and then meditate on James 3:1-12 and then come back here! _______ OK, let’s proceed. James told us that no man can tame the tongue, with its propensity to sow bad seed. However, Paul tells us that we have the mind of Christ! Christ in you… His mind is within us! We are able to think His thoughts and then we speak His words! Beautiful seed is sown, the reaping is a beautiful garden of life, to the glory of God!

Finally consider what David said here, “Psa 39:3 My heart was hot within me; While I was musing, the fire burned. [Then] I spoke with my tongue:” Here the psalmist says his heart became inflamed and when he was musing or meditating, on God and His word, his heart caught on fire, and then he spoke from that fire! By the grace of God and mediation on God and His life-giving words, we will sow the seeds of life and reap an everlasting and beautiful garden of life. Jesus has come to recover what our ancestors, Adam and Eve, lost in the garden! By looking at the garden of your life, you can see what you have been thinking and sowing! Good news, The Holy Spirit loves gardening! Why not let Him help you with yours? Just ask Him!

Every blessing!
