I AM WITH YOU
“I don’t worry over the future, for I know what Jesus said; so today I’ll walk beside Him, for He knows what is ahead.
Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand but I know Who holds tomorrow and I know He holds my hand.”
Matt 28: 20b "…and lo, I am with you always, [even] to the end of the age." Amen.
The Scripture above is the last recorded words of Matthew. Jesus was giving His disciples what we know as “The Great Commission.” How comforting to me, in this highly uncomfortable world we are living in, that we, the ones who have embraced The Great Commission, will be accompanied by I AM! The very same God that was with Moses, through thick and thin! He is I AM with us, always and in all ways!
If you are one of His followers, you can absolutely rest assured, that you are in the safety of His presence, in every possible way! Or even every impossible way, for that matter!
Many years ago I walked through a very dark valley. I felt like, “My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?” I am here to tell you, I hurt deeply. I was overwhelmed by such a feeling of abandonment! I began to accept the lie of the enemy; that God had left me. It was not until I put my faith foot down and said, “No matter that it feels like I am abandoned by God, it is not possible that He would abandon me! He said, He would NEVER leave me or forsake me. He cannot lie! I believe His promise and doubt my feelings.” Almost immediately the Lord delivered me out of that horribly lonesome valley!
Something that helped me a great deal during that tough time was this little phrase that came to me, “GO AS FAR AS YOU CAN SEE, AND WHEN YOU GET THERE, YOU WILL SEE FURTHEr.”My how true that was! Jesus never let go of my hand. There was never a moment through it all that trial that He let go of my hand! He will never let go of your hand either! He has got you!
Sing it with me a little louder, “Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come, His grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me (always and all the way) home!
Every blessing!
