YOUR VERY PRESENT HELP

“We must not allow our emotions to hold sway over our minds. Rather, we must seek to let the truth of God rule our minds. Our emotions must become subservient to the truth.”
Psalm 46:1 God [is] our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. NKJV
Perhaps we all have at times, been mastered by our emotions. God gave us the ability to feel. Feelings however, should be like the caboose on a train. We must realize that trains can speed down the track, with or without a caboose. Emotions, the warm fuzzy kind, are loved by all. The dark and omnious kind, none of us like, not at all! The Holy Spirit’s help for us is to strengthen us to be led by God’s word, which is always truth! So many of us are led by our feelings, or our emotions, instead of the Holy Spirit! Fellowship with the Holy Spirit produces many wonderful fruits. The fruit that masters our feelings is self-control! Self-control allows us to keep our composure in what could otherwise be a panicked situation.
Satan loves to show us the worst case scenarios. Something like this, “You see that approaching tornado of trouble? Well, this one will take you out, you will not survive this!” He is always at work to get us to push the panic button and tap out!
I believe the Lord wants to remind you today of all the troubles you have faced in your past. Then consider that He brought you through them all! How? He is a VERY PRESENT help in your trouble!
Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.
Oh this is awesome! The Brother that is born for our adversity, is none other than our elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ! Mankind was in the worst kind of trouble. We all were facing the damnation of our eternal souls, and then, at the perfect time, Jesus stepped in on our behalf to save all who would put their trust in Him! Whatever your trouble, Jesus does not have come to your aid. He is already in the midst of your trouble! Emmanuel (God is with us!) can be trusted. Emotions cannot! Put your emotions in the back seat and never allow them to take the driver’s seat! Rest easy and let the Holy Spirit drive you right out of the storm! He will indeed!
Every blessing!
