WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?
Prov. 23:7a - For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
“Anxiety is a thin stream of fear trickling through the mind. If encouraged, it cuts a channel into which all other thoughts are drained.”
It seems that fear, worry and anxiety are at an all time high! Jesus spoke of days that would come, that men's hearts would actually stop because of fear. (Luke 21:26) People get into anxiety ruts and can have a terrible time trying to get out of that prison of the mind. If we are doers of the word of God, and not just casual hearers, we will escape the horrible pit of despair.
If we take on these three responsibilities that have been given to us by God, we will be delivered from anxiety and all of it's forms. Are you ready? Alright, here they are:
#1) Is. 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Perfect peace is God's promise to those who will keep their minds on Him and trust in Him. No matter how difficult your situation is... God has given His word on this!
#2) 1Pet. 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
What an incredible offer! The Lord wants to take every burden that you have! It is your job to give it all over to Him. He cares for us! There is no other friend that cares for us like Jesus cares!
#3) Php. 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate (think) on these things.
Here we are charged to let go of all anxiety, and pray with thankful hearts and we will enjoy all of the surpassing peace of God. If you make it your practice to meditate on the true, meditate on the noble, meditate on the just, meditate on the pure, meditate on the lovely, meditate on the good reports, the virtuous, and the praiseworthy... you will become the embodiment of all these virtues. How can I say this, you ask? Because the word of God says, the way we think is what we become!
So, what do you think?
Every blessing!
