RECALIBRATING
“Life is a continuous process of getting used to things we hadn’t expected.”
Job 30:26 But when I looked for good, evil came [to me]; And when I waited for light, then came darkness.
Many years ago, when all of our kids were still at home, I decided to take a sabbatical from ministry for what I assumed would be a short period of time. I was trusting God to provide work in order to take care of my family. We had returned to our homeland in the mountains of North Carolina. My parents wanted to help, so they invited us to stay in their home for a while. Work was scarce and we began to be in trouble with our bills. I was crying out to God to provide and fully expecting that He would do something miraculous. I got it in my mind that there was going to be a big check in the mail from someone to catch us up. I saw the mail carrier and was excited to go and retrieve the miracle gift! To my shock and devastation, there was a big fat unexpected bill! I was reeling with despair! I cried out to Jesus and said, “Lord, where are You?” His reply came instantly, “My grace is sufficient for you!” I assure you, that is not what I wanted to hear but in my heart, I knew I needed to hear that!
I just need to remind someone today, that His grace is not only greater than all of our sin, His grace is also greater than all of our need! All I knew to do was to trust His amazing and unfailing grace to get us through! O my, did He ever! That painful trial allowed us to see up close, His great care for us and His great power to take care of us! My family and saw a series of miraculous interventions on our behalf! My kids have never had a struggle with believing in God. You would never talk any one of them out of their faith in Christ!
Dear friend, God’s grace is sufficient for you! Recalibrate your thoughts back to His greatness! Begin to expectantly thank Him that He has never failed you and know that He will not fail you now! I declare to you, He will carry you through this to the other side! If you trust Him, now is a wonderful time to lift voice with rejoicing in His goodness! You shall surely see it!
Every blessing!
