THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO SELF
“If you believe what you like in the Gospel, and reject what you don’t like, it is not the Gospel you believe, but yourself.”
Pro 14:12 There is a way [that seems] right to a man, But its end [is] the way of death.
The Gospel according to self, is not good news! In order for we humans to comprehend the Gospel, we need supernatural assistance,— the help of the Holy Spirit. The things of God are spiritually discerned (1Cor 2:14), never naturally discerned. Jesus said, “Unless a person is born again, he cannot “see” the Kingdom of God (John 3:3).
Jesus taught that near the end, "Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.” Matt 24:11. Literally, there will be many standing in the place of authority (pulpits), with false conversions claiming to be teaching the Truth! These are devoid of the Truth. These will deceive many. These, even now are deceiving many. There is so much great confusion, so much strong delusion in the world we live in today! How do we avoid deception and believing lies? First of all, as Paul said, “Having no confidence in the flesh — self.” (Php. 3:3) Secondly, cry out to God to be granted love of the Truth! (2Thess. 2:10) Third, ask God to give you strong discerning between the Truth and lies! Fourth, lean hard on The Holy Spirit to guide you out of your own way of thinking and into the mind of Christ —The Truth! Continually practice these four steps and you will believe and follow the true Gospel and become valiant for The Truth! John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide (continue) in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." HALLELUJAH!
